New Scientific Research Highlighted at Glaucoma Research Society of Canada’s (GRSC) Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Dr. John Flanagan and Dr. Mitra Sehi’s research into the interaction of daily variations in eye and blood pressures that could help identify eyes at risk of glaucoma is the feature presentation at the Glaucoma Research Society of Canada’s AGM at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the St. Lawrence Hall in Toronto.
Over $50,000 in grants this year from the GRSC have helped support this research and five other investigations about glaucoma currently undertaken by researchers across Canada:
Development of a Hypoxic Cell Culture Model of Glaucoma

Determining the Effect of Genetic Mutations on Ocular Structural Properties and Glaucoma
- Dr. J. Lehmann and Dr. I. MacDonald
Following the presentation, a panel of distinguished ophthalmologists: Dr. Graham Trope, Dr. Blair Fearon and Dr. Frederick Feldman, will answer questions from members.
The Glaucoma Research Society of Canada is a national registered charity committed to funding research into the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of glaucoma. Since 1988, the charity has raised over one million dollars for research and a full 80% of donations has gone directly to support glaucoma research.
