2009 Annual General Meeting
Public Presentation on Modern Diagnosis and Treatment of Glaucoma Highlights Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Dr. Yvonne Buys will speak about the management of glaucoma on Tuesday, October 13 at 5:45 p.m. at the CNIB, 1929 Bayview Avenue, Toronto.
Over the last few years a variety of imaging techniques have been developed to assess the optic nerve. At the AGM, Dr. Buys will present results of her studies comparing photographs to the HRT (Heidelberg Retina Tomograph) to define change in the optic nerve.
A recent Canadian study found that about half of glaucoma patients do not use their eye drops properly. Dr. Buys will discuss strategies to help patients remember to take their medication.
Dr. Buys is a full Professor at the University of Toronto, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and the Co-Director of the Glaucoma Unit at the University Health Network.
This presentation is part of the Glaucoma Research Society of Canada’s 2009 AGM. The Society welcomes members of the public to its AGM. Attendees at the meeting will also hear about the latest developments in glaucoma research and be able to ask leading ophthalmologists questions about glaucoma.
Admission and parking are free. Light refreshments will be available. The public should RSVP by phone: 416-483-0200 or e-mail: info@glaucomaresearch.ca
